The study sought to assess the effectiveness of pre-retirement training programme in imparting necessary life skills to prospective retirees at TANROADS. In specifically, TANROADS in Dar es Salaam was the site of the investigation. A qualitative technique was used to collect the primary data, which was done through focus group discussions and interviews with 30 individuals. The study's conclusions showed that, TANROADS routinely offered pre-retirement training for prospective retirees. Additionally, it was shown that, participants in pre-retirement training programme receive diverse life skills instruction. People are taught skills including self-assurance in managing retirement life, investment skills, business abilities, and attention to maintaining one's health. The government must formalise pre-retirement training programme by passing legislation that establishes rules and a framework for how this programme should be created, carried out, and assessed. The law must also outline the length and frequency of training sessions. According to the study's findings, TANROADS and the government as a whole must provide sufficient funds each financial year to support pre-retirement training programme for TANROADS employees as well as public sector workers nationwide.
